FUNDING
REDUNDANCY SUPPORT
You may be eligible for Rapid Response Redundancy Support funding to do the A1 Assessor Course.  The funding, aimed at helping people who are either under formal notice of redundancy, or who have been made redundant in the last 13 weeks.

The A1 Assessor Course is one of the courses that, if you are eligible for support, could be paid for by this funding which comes from the Government via Jobcentre Plus.  For more details you need to contact your regional office which can be found by clicking on the Jobcentre Plus website Site Search, and entering ‘redundancy’ or ‘redundancy support’ into the Search Box.  Contact your regional office and ask about funding for the A1 course.

For more information see:  Jobcentre Plus Rapid Response Service (Notes)

NOTE 1:  The process to secure funding through this route may take many weeks, so don’t delay - enquire about eligibility and apply as soon as you can.  When you contact your Regional Office, stress that the course is a Fast-Track Assessor’s Course (reportedly some staff in Jobcentre offices have assumed it’s like most full NVQ qualifications and will take many months).

The A1 qualification, in many sectors, greatly improves your prospects of employability.  Check for yourself and your own sector by searching on Google with “NVQ Assessor vacancy + your work area or sector or job title”, or by enquiring with recruitment consultants.

ARE YOU A SMALL TO MEDIUM ENTERPRISE BASED IN MERSEYSIDE AND LOOKING FOR FUNDING SUPPORT TO TRAIN YOUR STAFF TO BE A1 QUALIFIED?
If so you may be eligible for up to 60% funding under the SkillWorks scheme - see http://www.allmerseyside.net/skillworks/skillworks.asp
TRAIN TO GAIN
Train to Gain funding is available for a limited number of applicants for full NVQs, not for just the A1 which is a standalone NVQ Unit.  However, if you are considering doing an NVQ Level 3 in Direct Training & Support, or an NVQ Level 3 or 4 in Learning & Development, you may be eligible for Train to Gain funding.  The A1 is an optional Unit for the Level 3 DT&S and L&D NVQs.  See the Train to Gain website for more details.
